Greeting

Agile Product Development – overrated hype or future-oriented guarantee of success? In volatile times, the classical development approaches typically used in companies are reaching the limits of their capabilities. For this reason, manufacturing companies are increasingly using agile principles in the development of physical products. This results in a variety of potentials, as well as challenges.

Therefore we, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT and the Complexity Management Academy, in cooperation with an industrial consortium, would like to identify successful and field-proven solutions as well as success factors for the agile development of physical products.

For this reason, use this benchmarking study "Agile Product Development" to critically examine your approach for the introduction and application of agile product development, to receive further impulses and inform yourself about successful approaches based on the study results.

We are looking forward to your participation!

Sincerely yours,

Prof. Dr. Günther Schuh
Member of the Executive Board of the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT
