Information about the survey

Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to participate in the study on partnerships between specialist palliative care services across Europe (WHO European Region). The kind of partnership can be formal, through a written agreement, or informal.

The aims of the study are to identify and to analyse existing partnerships between specialist palliative care services from WHO European region and to find factors that contributed and contribute to successful mutual relations between these units across borders. Furthermore, we would like to assess expectations and needs for future cooperation.

Moreover, we would like to present the idea of an Institute of European Hospice Partnerships. This Institute aims to encourage inpatient hospices, palliative care units, home care teams, and day hospices to interrelate within the WHO European Region.

It intends to contribute within its capacities to reducing the imbalance that exists in palliative care between East and West (vision). It supports cooperation and aims to build a network of representatives involved in development of partnerships across borders. The focus within the cooperation should be on those questions and topics that arise from the practical work and everyday level of all relevant professional groups in palliative care (mission).
